The Ministry of Education and Science (MoES), through its Project Implementation Unit (PIU), is currently overseeing the implementation of the Somaliland Empowering Women through Education and Skills Project - Rajo Kaaba (Project ID: P176898). This initiative is dedicated to uplifting Somaliland women, particularly those aged 15 to 35, by enhancing their access to quality education and vocational training opportunities.
Empower girls and women through foundational education and skills development enable adolescent girls and women to access foundational literacy and numeracy education, essential socio-emotional and life skills, and entry-level vocational training. These efforts aim to foster economic participation and improve long-term livelihood outcomes, especially among groups historically excluded from formal education and employment pathways.
Expand equitable access to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) promoting inclusive access to TVET programs with a targeted focus on youth particularly young women by delivering market-relevant skills and strengthening institutional capacity to meet labor market demands.
Strengthen the quality of teacher training at the primary education level to elevate pedagogical standards and enhance learning outcomes across the nation.
Enhance maternal and child healthcare services strengthen the healthcare system by advancing the capacity of nursing and midwifery education institutions. This will contribute to improved service delivery and health outcomes in underserved and remote regions.
